Special floodlighting systems are needed to bathe large areas in glistening light. The requirements for floodlighting systems are complex and the construction of these systems is challenging. Factors such as the area to be illuminated or the angle of dip of the light play an important role in planning. Especially when it comes to lighting sports fields, the demands on the quality of the lighting are very high.
Kummler+Matter EVT has been designing floodlighting systems for large sports fields, industrial halls, sports stadiums and facilities for over 40 years. Interdisciplinary knowledge of civil engineering and mast construction, mechanics and statics makes it possible to work very efficiently. The specialists develop overall concepts and design the entire system; starting with the power supply from the grid, through to lighting support structures such as masts and cable supports as well as the lighting medium.

Planning
Kummler+Matter EVT handles the overall planning, contributes its expertise and advisory skills in the selection of suitable lighting, and then draws up the lighting, construction and structural plans.
Engineering
Based on the lighting requirements and the location, calculations are carried out for the mast locations, equipment, light type and also the cable routing.
Execution
Kummler+Matter EVT also calculates mast requirements and installs them, carries out the required civil engineering work, pulls the cables through and prepares all the electrical connections. Special vehicles and equipment, such as lifting cranes, helicopters, trucks, cable pulling machines etc. are used for this purpose.
Commissioning
After completion, light measurements are carried out on the systems and logged. This enables us to verify whether the area is illuminated consistently according to the respective guidelines. Based on the type of sport, we create the required measurement logs individually. The Swiss Football Association (SFV), for example, requires periodic lighting measurements for football pitches.
Upkeep
Regular lighting maintenance, including cleaning of floodlights, replacement of bulbs, checking of lighting values, street lights and electric cables is recommended in every case.
